Moving from Year 6 Into Year 7
Nearing the end of the summer term, parents are invited to a Year 7 information evening, where parents hear more about the school vision, aims, and how parents may prepare their child for secondary school.
Following our information evening and preceding entry, Year 6 pupils are invited to a ‘taster day’ where they will engage in some typical lessons, navigate their way around the site and get to know their fellow students. During this day, students have the opportunity to try out a variety of lessons, experience a year group assembly, and meet the rest of their form group as well as their form tutor. Many students have reported this day to be invaluable in helping them settle quickly into school.
During the first half term, parents are invited to a Year 7 Focus Evening where parents are given more specific and detailed information about the school including our rewards and consequences system, our extra-curricular programme and how to communicate effectively with the school. It is also a chance to meet the Year 7 Pastoral team, including all Year 7 form tutors. During this evening, we strive to answer any questions that may have arisen during the first half term.
