School Rebuilding Programme - the new East Block
We are excited and honoured to be part of the School Rebuilding Programme (SRP 1092)
Behind the hoarding now on the top field will grow, over the next two years, our brand new, state-of-the art and pioneering net-zero carbon in-use building; which will be home to English, art, food, technology, computing and SEND and which we will call East Block.
We will also be getting yet more fantastic sports facilities – for certain: a new outdoor basketball court, an improved rugby and athletics field, and two outdoor cricket nets – hopefully (via a separate but concurrent project): also tennis courts, a hockey-5 pitch, netball courts and a 5/7-a-side football pitch too.
We will also be getting an outdoor amphitheatre classroom and two new covered outdoor eating areas which we will fill with picnic tables.
A helpful presentation for parents, carers and local residents is at this link, used for the planning consultation. A few minor tweaks have been made since, but it still gives a great idea of the exciting times ahead.
The contractor, Tilbury Douglas, will also produce regular newsletters to keep us all updated.
